BBC News reports that The Palace of Versailles will launch a perfume based on the fragrance once used by Marie-Antoinette. The perfume combines various scents including rose, iris, jasmine, orange blossom and sandalwood. It will cost about 350 euros, which is $463.
Um, they forgot one other scent: blood! Great, all I need is a perfume used by someone whose head was chopped off, guillotine-style. I don’t care how great it smells. I wouldn’t want to be having nightmares while wearing it - like getting beheaded and having my head paraded around town while people cheer on. That would be kinda creepy.
On a related note, I usually don’t care much for history, but I might just watch the movie when it comes out on DVD. Did Kirsten Dunst get her head chopped too? Were there gruesome scenes where she’s like majorly tortured? Cuz that would be awesome - the character she played, of course.
