Barbara Streisand ditched her fans and canceled her concert in Rome. Apparently, Italian people didn’t think she was worth the expensive ticket prices.
Two consumer activist groups in Italy complained that tour promoters were charging exorbitant prices for tickets to the Rome show. They urged Rome’s city government and Italy’s Olympic Committee to deny permission for the singer to use the stadium. They said prices ranging from 150 euros ($201) to 900 euros ($1,210) were “absurd and shameful.” By comparison, the best seats at Milan’s La Scala opera house run about 200 euros ($269).
If I remember correctly, didn’t Barbara Streisand have all her “Farewell” tour concerts in 2000? Yet, here she is, still touring. Is she still saying good-bye or was that just one of her ways to gain publicity and make money? I’m sure it’s the latter. Lame. She’s like 60 now so her concerts should just be free. Better yet, she should pay people to go listen to her shriek.
