This is just so sad that I had to post it.
According to MSNBC, our beloved Xiang Xiang Panda has past away. And it wasn’t because she was too old or anything.
The body of Xiang Xiang was found Feb. 19 in the forests of Sichuan province in China’s southwest, Xinhua said. He survived less than a year in the wild after nearly three years of training in survival techniques and defense tactics. Xiang Xiang, who may have fallen from a high place while fighting with wild pandas, died of serious internal injuries, the report said, citing the Wolong Giant Panda Research Center in Sichuan.
Hmm, I guess the wild isn’t the place for these little pandas. As much as I’d hate seeing them all caged up, but wouldn’t that be safer than to release them into the wild and put them in danger?
