Right when you think Angelina Jolie is a total angel who loves kids, she goes and does something completely “out of character.” Well — OK, replace “out of character” with hypocritical.
Angelina Jolie attempted to censor her interviews while promoting her new film, A Mighty Heart, a movie about freedom of the press. She requested all media outlets to sign contracts that basically tell them that they have no freedom of the press, and they are not allowed to ask her any questions not relating to her movie.
She had her publicists ban FOX News from the red carpet of her premiere event. The premiere was actually a benefit for the Reporters Without Borders organization. (Talk about irony.) She made journalists sign a contract before talking to her. This apparently pissed off USA Today and the Associated Press who in turn canceled their interviews.
A reporter from a major outlet responded:
I wouldn’t sign it. Who does she think she is?
A mighty hypocrite, that’s what. You’re promoting a movie about freedom of the press but only if it’s under your own terms. Sure. Angelina Jolie is known for the ability to manipulate the media. I can’t count how many times she comes out being a hypocritical liar. Also, that’s one dumb tattoo. “know your rights.” Uhh, what rights? It should read: “know the rights I give you.”

Oh the irony. That’s just completely awesome. Thank you for this. It was 110% awesome.
thats because she wanted it to be about the movie and not about what her and brad are doing with their personal life. she is not the only actress/actor who has done this. i mean come on your at a premire for a very serious movie and the media sits there and asks stupid and inapropriate questions when its not about that. i understand why it was done
well nobody was forced to sign it it was just a memmo asking for everyone to not try to pry into the personal life and keep it about the movie. and she didnt even put it out some representitives did. she said herself she would have never sent it out. she always answers the questions she is asked, she answers questions most actors would never answer.
