As you’ve probably heard, Miss New Jersey has been blackmailed by someone threatening her that her “racy photos” will be exposed if she doesn’t step down from the crown. So in an obvious move to fight back, her lawyers probably told her to come out and reveal the photos herself on the Today show.
You mean to tell me Miss Beauty Queen takes racy photos, as opposed to being an alcoholic and a drug addict? Shocking. Even though it’s actually quite a smart move, what does this say about being a role model for young girls? Aren’t these beauty pageant queens supposed to have it all - beauty, brains, class, role model? Obviously not. Sure, you can argue - everyone makes mistakes, everyone’s taken photos like that at some point, blablabla. But if you’re going to be running for Miss America, and have people look up to you, you need to be different and set an example. Your pets probably make better role models at this point.

Interesting take..
We really do expect a lot and kind of a ‘picture-perfect’ person to win a beauty pageant. They should have the perfect smile, the perfect body, the perfect style - and a perfect past.
But at the end of the day - these are pageants where HUMANS take part (did you know there was a camel beauty pageant too!).
So to expect a perfect beauty queen - well there’s nothing like that. I bet EVERY beauty queen has done something ‘odd’ in the past.
Others don’t get exposed. Miss New Jersey (and tara and a few others) were accidently exposed. And just showing the pics herself and giving a finger to the blackmailer so she can sleep peacefully at night - is a LOT better move than turning on your bed and thinking what’ll happen if the world knew about it!
So even though I think a beauty queen shouldn’t have done it - I see her more as a smart human.. a girl who just went wild a bit!
Poor little smart girl! So innocent, she was lured to sin, lets feel pity for her! Bleah!
