Reuters reports that a teenage girl lost her court battle in a case against her school for banning her from wearing what she calls a “purity ring”, a symbol expressing her commitment to virginity. The school allows other groups to wear items integral for their religious beliefs, but it said the purity ring was not an integral part of the Christian belief.Â
The girl, who’s named Lydia Playfoot, said:
I am very disappointed by the decision this morning by the High Court not to allow me to wear my purity ring to school as an expression of my Christian faith not to have sex outside marriage.
Seriously dude? If you wanna be a virgin and all, that’s great! But do it on your own time instead of making an issue out of it. Why must you wear some stupid ring to tell the world you’re a virgin? Sure, Christians are pure, we get it. Clowns are sad. Kittens are cute. Sharks eat people. It’s all good. But to fight in court about it, you’re just making an ass out of yourself.

Of course she isn’t an ass for wearing a ring!!! Why can’t she wear the ring? Some people think that they should overpower others with their opinion! If it was dangerous for other students or whatever…I would have agreed..but this small ring….geee… I can’t understand it. She’s happy to be a virgin….till experience makes her change her opinion…..so may be it…that’s all. Soon she will remove the ring from her finger and never wear it again…but till then let the girl be happy with what she holds dear for her!!! For many people their religion is an important issue…..let us be TOLERANT!!!
