Teri Hatcher is being sued by Hydroderm for $2 million because she apparently went and endorced a competitor’s brand, City Cosmetics, right after she signed Hydroderm’s contract.
According to DailyNews.com:
According to the suit, Hatcher and Hydroderm entered into a contract in November 2005 to use her services to promote the company’s products. Despite the agreement’s anti-competition clause, Hatcher endorsed City Cosmetics products before and after the Hydroderm agreement was signed by posing for photos, agreeing to be interviewed about the competitor’s products and identifying herself as a fan of what they sell, according to the suit. One of the items Hatcher endorsed was a City Cosmetics lip plumper that directly competes with Hydroderm’s lip enhancer, the suit alleges.
I think the joke here is on both Hydroderm and City Cosmetics for picking Teri Hatcher to promote their products without taking a closer look at her to realize she looks like this and this when she’s not airbrushed to the death. No amount of anti-wrinkle skin care products or lip plumbers can ever cover up all her facial lines and smoker’s lips when you watch her on HDTV. I think they’re better off using college-ruled paper to endorse their products.
