Katharine McPhee, American Idol’s runner-up, is no longer marketable and nobody wants her anymore. She recently got dumped by RCA.
Winning ‘American Idol’ is no longer a guarantee that you’re going to make it,” says one industry source. “Katharine was hot for a few months. But audiences are fickle. We put millions behind Katharine. Many of us at the label still love her songs. But we’re in the major leagues. We didn’t think she could break into the mainstream. We would rather be honest.”
Wow, maybe my dream IS coming true after all - that American Idol may slowly become an extinction. Music companies dropping the so-called “winners” like Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard. Then all that is left are chimps and buffoons on stage singing a monkey version of “American Idiot.”
Here’s Katharine McPhee doing what she does best - showing up at events for no reason at all, not singing:

Got that off your chest? Happy now?
Anybody that believes they sunk “millions” into her is really naive, or maybe just stupid. That quote is from a BMG spokesman—–they’re getting really defensive because everyone knows they mishandled her from the beginning, and they’re blogging and writing articles about it and making RCA look bad. But stupid decisions like releasing her album during the slowest sales period of the year when it was ready two months before that, making a horrible choice for her first single when there were much better choices on her album, and then not promoting her second single at all were just a few examples of terrible decision-making on RCA’s part.
Then they try to cover their butts by blaming the talent. Millions? What did they spend it on? That wonderful backing track they gave her for her radio tour in place of a live band? Puh-leeze.
face it, she sucks. the only thing good she achieved was all that weight she lost. that’s it.
