To prevent more rumors, Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson announced to their fans that they got engaged on Wednesday.
“We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged,” Simpson wrote. Simpson and Wentz, the bassist in emo-rocking sensations Fall Out Boy, have been dating since 2006. “Thank you for all of your support and well wishes — it means the world to us,” Simpson’s post continued. “We consider this to be a very private matter, but we wanted you to hear it straight from us.”
In related news, Ashlee Simpson was caught shoving an army swiss knife by Pete Wentz’s neck, hysterically screaming incoherent words until Pete dropped down to his one bleeding knee and opened a box containing a giant ring pop.
How perfect! Gee, I can do what the big girls do, I can marry young and divorce in a couple of years… I am on my way to complete pop-status!!! Just another waste!
Well, they’re both ugly. By pairing off together they’re leaving more attractive people in the mix for the rest of us Normo’s. I see it as a win.
