Talented film director and actor Sydney Pollack has died of cancer at the age of 73. You might remember him for his role of Will’s dad on Will and Grace (when he announced to a room full of people, “My son is gay!”), and most recently in Michael Clayton and Made of Honor. I also remember him in an AT&T commercial played in the movie theater, the one where he interrupts someone’s phone call and at the end, the screen had a message to tell you to shut off your cell phone, a message by Sydney Pollack. That was a funny commercial/message. I can’t believe a funny man like that is gone. What a great man he was. Rest in peace.
