Katherine Heigl recently turned down an Emmy nomination because apparently, she thinks she’s too good for it.
According to AP, she said in writing:
I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination and in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization. In addition, I did not want to potentially take away an opportunity from an actress who was given such materials.
Ohh excuuse me. You really think you’d win? And the award is just yours to give away to someone else? Must I remind you that you’re on a show that dropped in ratings? She should consider the Emmy bid a blessing. But she thinks she’s too good for it and turns it down with a carefully thought-through reason that somehow puts her on a high horse. Also, she’s basically giving the writers a YOU SUCK message. Not her acting or anything. The (writing) material. That’s right, Katherine. Keep biting the hand that feeds you. I can’t wait to see the next season of Grey’s Anatomy, when her character comes down with a serious illness that turns her into a talk-less vegetable on a wheelchair rolling around on the streets getting hit and killed by a bus. All within the first minute of the show’s premiere. Who’s got the power now?
